There are two means of achieving liberation. One is through the traditional Kramic path, and the other is through the non-traditional path of Akram Vignan. ‘Akram’ means without steps and Vignan means science. It is a short-cut for attaining Self realization. Very rarely does one come across this path which only remains for a short time. In fact, it comes once every million years! Therefore, it is indeed a tremendous wonder that this path has surfaced in our time.
This path was naturally and spontaneously revealed to the Gnani Purush A. M. Patel, also known as Dadashri, in 1958; and the current Gnani, Shree Deepakbhai Desai, is now continuing this. Dadashri had said that this path of the science of Akram is the eleventh wonder of this era! The traditional path to liberation is millions of miles long, one that cannot be attained even in a million life times, has manifested today as a short-cut. The knowledge of this path is the knowledge of the Vitrag Lords (the Tirthankars who have attained liberation), it is the knowledge of the Omniscient, and however the method to attain it is in a form of a short cut. One’s vision changes completely upon attaining this knowledge. The path to liberation has been simplified as never before by the Dadashri, the master Scientist of this path.
Those who seek ultimate liberation can be assured of attaining it through this path. Incredible as it may seem, it is indeed a reality today and hundreds of thousands who have attained this path can attest to experiencing liberation even whilst living their mundane worldly life.
It is said that moksha, ultimate liberation and the path towards ultimate liberation are not possible in the current time cycle, however through the science of Akram, it is possible for one to attain a level of spirituality whereby he has only one more life before final salvation. Moreover, after acquiring the knowledge that the Gnani bestows upon him through this science, one experiences liberation in this very life. Dadashri had said that from the time of his spontaneous Self realization in 1958, he constantly experienced the bliss of liberation and that we too, can experience the same. He used to say that we need to experience peace and liberation right away, and that promises of peace and liberation in the next life are not good enough. The path of Akram Science gives us the taste of liberation in this very life.
In this path the Self is realized first and all residual karma effects are simply observed and discharged under the awareness of the awakened Self; this essentially becomes the process, which purifies the ego naturally. There is no more following the prescribed path of rigid rituals, fasting, penance or other disciplines to purify the ego. This Scientific approach to the Self is for all.
When the Gnani bestows Self realization upon you through this Akram science, He gives you realization and the experience of your Soul being your real Self. He destroys your false belief of, ‘I am Jane’ and replaces it with the right belief of ‘I am the pure soul’. He establishes within you the conviction of ‘My real Self is a pure Soul and Jane is my relative-self.’ The Gnani assures us that after enlightenment, we cease to bind new karmas. The wrong belief of ‘I am Jane’ is the source of cause for bondage of karmas because inherent in this belief is also the belief of ‘I am the doer of actions.’ All actions performed with the belief of ‘I am the doer’ bind karmas. When the Gnani give you Self realization, He also enlightens you with the truth about how everything runs in the world and who the real doer is etc. The knowledge of the Soul will take you to moksha. After acquiring this knowledge, depending upon the degree of your awareness of your real Self you can have as little as one more life before the ultimate salvation or as many as fifteen. Liberation however is inevitable! The journey towards liberation begins once you come into your real Self. It is the inherent nature of the Soul to ascend towards liberation, but the physical self drags it down, however because the Soul is sentient, ultimately it wins. The soul being animate, possess the know-how in order to become free, the physical body however does not have this capability, as it is inanimate. The one who wants to be free, no one can tie him down and the one who wants to remain in bondage, no one can free!
Dadashri gives us liberation in one hour! He is able to do so because liberation is within us; the Soul itself is Nirvana. This path of liberation is the science of knowledge. You must simply understand everything; that is all. You are not required to do any rituals or penance here. All you have to understand is your real Self and how the worldly life has come about. What is the universal truth and why does the worldly life hold you captive? How did it come into existence? etc. The Gnani gives us knowledge of all these facts.
Dadashri, through the science of separation, makes a clear line of demarcation between our real Self, the Soul and the relative self. Once this is established, the two will never become one again. Once Dadashri gives us knowledge of the Soul, the awareness of our real Self is awakened and this awareness is eternal. Nothing on the outside changes as far as our worldly life is concerned; we still have to fulfill our parental, family and worldly obligations. With this knowledge not only will we accomplish our worldly obligations but we will do so with equanimity. After Akram Enlightenment, the Gnani gives us five aagnas (i.e. five cardinal principles and directives by which we should conduct our worldly life). These principles are to be adhered to by way of understanding, and application of these to our daily life interactions makes them smoother and they help us resolve all conflicts with equanimity. They help us settle all our pending karmic accounts with equanimity. They serve as a protective ‘fence’ around the new sapling of real knowledge that is planted within us. Nature does its job of bringing forth the effect of all our past karmic accounts, however these accounts belong to our relative self and the relative self will have to deal with them. All we (the self-realised) have to do is simply remain in the domain of our real Self and ‘know’ and maintain awareness of all that unfolds. These five principles make the worldly life ideal and also help to maintain and fortify our awareness as the Soul. In doing so the claims of all our past karmas, regardless of their gravity, will be discharged with equanimity. We must discharge all karmas with equanimity in order to attain the ultimate liberation. The inner awareness of the Soul that the Gnani establishes within us will remain all the way to the ultimate salvation.
The Akram path is without rigid rules. One can only attain liberation without rules. One becomes natural when no rules are imposed. There are no pre-requisites in terms of merits of achievement for you to qualify for True Self realization through the science of Akram, however you must have absolute humility towards what the Gnani and the Knowledge He gives you and the approach of ‘I don’t know anything’. This Science is the pure extract of all the scriptures and the essence of the collective knowledge of the Omniscients', therefore in order to keep it pure and uncontaminated, you must discard whatever you have learnt or known through books and other past spiritual practices. This is a revolutionary path of liberation. The Gnani emphatically states that in this path you do not have to ‘do’ anything. You do not have to let go of anything. The path of liberation is not a path of renouncing or acquisition. You simply have to understand the science of the Vitrag Lords and what the Gnani tells you. There is no liberation where you have to ‘do’ something and there is no ‘doing’ where there is liberation. This is all you have to understand.
Liberation is in the palm of your hands. All you have to do is meet the current Gnani of this path and ask for liberation.
